I’ve always loved desserts, and good food in general. In fact my husband would tell you that I look and smile the happiest with food.
I love to cook for my family, bake and share with friends. I come from a family where my dad cooks and my mom can’t. I grew up eating alot of my grandma’s cuisine ( which by the way is really good, & i miss her food!). But growing up in a chinese family, where both my dad and grandma don’t bake western desserts. I took it upon myself to learn. I started baking at the age of 16 and I loved it. At age 22, I had a short stint at a local Patiserie in Singapore (very european style cakes), where I learnt alot of advanced techniques like tempering chocolate and improved on my basic baking techniques.
Soon, like most people who graduated with a business degree, I joined the corporate workforce for a couple of years before getting married.
2011 was the year I got married. It was also the year, I uprooted my life, left my corporate job and moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my husband (who’s Malaysian). With my supportive partner, I took the leap of faith; developed & launched: R Little Cakebox.
A range of all natural gourmet baking mixes, where no artificial colourings, flavourings & preservatives. Just good old baking the way it should be, except with fine ingredients.
I love my products and use them for baking very often, and of course cupcakes are just the start. And I am very excited to see where this journey takes me.
